Welcome to Sugar Creek Country Club, a private club providing an intimate membership experience in a traditional country club setting.
Sugar Creek Country Club made its legendary debut in 1972 as one of Houston’s premier country clubs. At that time, the Club was established as a member owned club in a class apart from the developer or privately owned country clubs where the interest of the members are secondary to the interests of the owners. The club founders commissioned legendary golf course architect Robert Trent Jones to design and construct a championship golf course unparalleled in the region. When was asked if this course would be the best in Houston, Jones answered, "No!... but there will be none finer." His vision is reflected in the three nine-hole courses that were aptly named Robert, Trent and Jones.
Still today, Sugar Creek Country Club upholds the same founding principles established in 1972. Traditional country club amenities include the Jones designed 27-hole golf course, golf practice facilities, 8 lighted tennis courts, a family style pool and fitness center. The stately Georgian-style Clubhouse provides casual and upscale dining, a full service bar, Men's and Ladies' Locker Rooms along with an elegant ballroom and meeting facilities.
And now, Sugar Creek Country Club is only getting better with a $2.5 million renovation of the golf course and club amenities. The highly anticipated golf course renovation began with the Trent course that will open for play October 2013. The remaining 18-holes will be renovated over the next two summers. Although the original golf course design will remain intact, significant improvements include new Southern Cross Bermuda on tees and fairways, new Champion Bermuda greens, brand new bunkers and enhanced water features.
Renovation plans commencing early 2014 will include an expansion and upgrade of the Clubhouse dining areas, bar, locker rooms, swimming pool, fitness center and tennis courts providing even more reasons for Members to enjoy their Club.
Sugar Creek Country Club appeals to discriminating families who enjoy quality golf and tennis as well as good company. Membership is limited to the few who qualify and share ownership of the club, its facilities, and the historic land on which it stands.
